Smart Pedal Pitch an international call for the most innovative and market-ready cycle tech solutions, to shape the future of cycling in cities. It is a unique innovation competition for start-ups and SMEs to have better cities, cycling ecosystems and cycling technology.
Smart Pedal Pitch 2022 will be part of Velo-city 2022 Ljubljana, the annual world cycling summit. It is organized by the City of Ljubljana and Technology Park Ljubljana in cooperation with the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF), Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) and local partners.
Ljubljana is the former European Green Capital and European Best Destination 2022, as well as a popular tech and start-up destination. The City of Ljubljana is looking for the latest market-ready cycling innovations that will shape the future of cycling in the city and create a healthier, sustainable, vibrant, and economically dynamic living environment.
Ten shortlisted companies will be invited to Velo-city 2022 conference in Ljubljana on June 15. Three finalists will have the opportunity to present their idea to the jury and the local public on June 16 and win the following prizes:
All three will also get exposure to local and global audience. The winner will get the opportunity to test their solution in the streets of Ljubljana and prove the concept in a real environment!

Velo-city is the annual world cycling conference organised by the European Cyclists' Federation. It aims is to promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy mean of transport for all. Like no other event, the conference offers a knowledge-exchange and policy-transfer platform to a growing number of more than 1,400 Velo-citizens from over 60 countries involved in the policy, promotion and provision for cycling, active mobility and sustainable urban development.
This year, the cycling summit will be held in Ljubljana's exhibition and convention centre on 14-17 June.
